1/27/16 Elaine LaRichie
Elaine LaRichie, resident
of Walden Oaks and a long time hostess of our Friday socials passed on January 24,
2016. Services will be held on Saturday January 30, 2016 at Saint Williams
Catholic Church at 601 Seagate Drive. Viewing will be at 10:30 am with a full
mass at 11:00 am. Burial services will
follow at Naples Memorial Gardens at 535 111st Avenue North. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to
the church or a charity you prefer.
9/5/15 Traffic Safety
Due to
repeated traffic violations of speeding, running stop signs, and etc.
Collier County Sheriff Department will be doing stepped up patrolling in Walden
Oaks. Also, a speed indicating device will be placed along Walden Oaks
roadways. As a reminder the speed limit on all Walden Oaks roadways is 25
mph.
8/21/15 Ficus Tree Removal
After
Windward Isles had completed their site clearing, it was discovered that the
ficus trees (near the front entrance) roots had been cut along the perimeter of
the new wall. This was an unavoidable situation. The compromising of the roots
AND the fact that most of the ficus in question were deemed (by an independent
State Certified arborist) to be in such bad condition from the above and from
natural declining the Master Board agreed that from a safety standpoint the
ficus should be removed especially in light of the fact we are entering SW Florida's Gulf of Mexico hurricane season. (Sept, Oct.,Nov.) Oak trees will be planted in their place as well as
hedge plants to complement our entrance and also to help obscure the adjacent
Windward Isles development.

7/28/15 Walkway Bridge
Repair
Construction work is
scheduled to begin Tuesday August 4, 2015 on the repair/replacement of the two
walkway bridges at the Clubhouse. Access to the Pool and Clubhouse will
be through the grass and the rock bed. Please be careful when walking
through this area.

Two Alligators have been caught and
removed from the Walden Oaks Lakes. Click for picture

Two Pool Keys which was posted on the
Bulletin Board have been found and return to the homeowner. A special Thank You to the residents which found the keys and
returned them to the association.

Windward Isle will be connecting to the
county sewer system which is located on Lone Oak Blvd. in front of the
condominiums (Barrington). The work is scheduled to start Thursday Feb. 26. The
work is estimated to take 2 to 3 days. During this time Lone Oak Blvd.
will be reduced to one lane in this area.
2/15/15 Our
Property Manger Beth Kirby received a report of an alligator in the lake at the
entrance of the community adjacent to the clubhouse. It was reportedly 4
plus feet long. Beth has reported it to the Alligator Nuisance hotline, a
permit has been issued to trap and remove the alligator. They will
contact her if there is any activity regarding this gator. If residents
spot it, they can either let Beth know at (Ability Management (239)591-4200 or
call the hotline (866)392-4286 to report the whereabouts of this gator in an
effort to help the trapper locate it. The agency asked if it is a threat
to anyone. Beth explained that it was a high pedestrian area and a lot of
construction in the surrounding territory and that this animal may very well be
agitated due to the construction.
2/5/15 Marbella Isles (GL Homes) ...
Information from meeting with the site supervisor for GL Homes in mid-January.
The perimeter wall surrounding the development is scheduled to be built this
month (Feb). Landscape buffer will be installed at a later date. To date,
over 80 homes have been sold in the development. Sales and construction
are occurring rapidly. Construction of the clubhouse will be commencing
in March.
9/22/14 Tennis Court ... The tennis court will
be reserved on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 p. m. until 5:00 p. m.
now through April.

lake, buffer, and community ingress / egress.
Multi-family uses have also been deleted from the RUPD

community policing Deputy assigned to your area. I wanted to pass along some
information, over the past several days communities in your area have seen
vehicle burglaries during the overnight hours. So far all the activity has taken
place in non-gated communities, however given the proximity of HawksRidge to
the incidents I wanted to get the word out to as many folks as possible. So far
in every case the vehicles were UNLOCKED, granted that does not excuse the
person(s) who entered the vehicle however we all need to guard our property.
If you could, please give your
residents a reminder that we do occasionally have activity like this and to
secure their property.
